This is a reference copy of the agreement a parent or legal guardian signs before a minor high school student can book or join sessions on Kairos. To actually sign, use the personalized link we email to the guardian.
Version 1.1, Effective July 17, 2026
Kairos (“Kairos,” “we,” “us”) is an online marketplace operated by Franco Reyes, doing business as Kairos Guidance, that connects high school students with current undergraduate students (“Tutors”) for academic and college-application support, including essay help, test preparation, activities planning, résumé building, and live one-on-one video sessions.
Because the Student is under 18, we require a parent or legal guardian(“you”) to read and agree to this consent before the Student can book sessions, make or receive payments, or join live sessions on Kairos.
1. Who you are
By signing, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the Student, that you are at least 18 years old, and that you are legally able to give this consent.
2. What you are consenting to
You consent to the Student:
- creating and using a Kairos account;
- communicating with Tutors through Kairos messaging;
- booking and attending live one-on-one video sessions with Tutors, who are adults the Student has generally not met before; and
- using Kairos’s tools, including essay drafts, practice tests, and the résumé and activities builders.
3. Payments
Sessions are paid, and you understand that any payment method added to the account is authorized by you and that you are responsible for the resulting charges. You are charged at the time of booking. Cancellations 24 or more hours before a session are refunded in full; cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable; and if a Tutor cancels you are always refunded in full. Full payment and refund terms are in the Terms of Use.
4. Supervision and safety
You understand that:
- Tutors are independent undergraduates, not employees of Kairos, and Kairos does not direct, supervise, or control the content of any session;
- sessions take place over live video and Kairos cannot guarantee the conduct of any participant;
- you are responsible for supervising the Student’s use of Kairos to the degree you consider appropriate; and
- you and the Student can report a concern about any Tutor or interaction at any time by emailing support@kairosguidance.com.
5. Tutor screening
Before a Tutor is approved to take students, Kairos reviews their application and profile and, for test-prep services, gates them behind a qualifying SAT/ACT score. Kairos does notconduct criminal background checks. Approval is not an endorsement or a guarantee of any Tutor’s background, conduct, or performance, and you should use your own judgment as you would with any independent provider.
6. Personal information
You consent to Kairos collecting and processing the Student’s information as described in our Privacy Policy, including the Student’s name, grade, school interests, academic goals, and content they upload. You may request access to or deletion of this information by emailing support@kairosguidance.com.
7. Communications
You consent to Kairos contacting the Student and you about account activity, bookings, and safety. Marketing emails are optional and can be turned off at any time.
8. Session transcription for safety
Every session takes place in a Kairos-provided video room and is automatically transcribed — a text record of what is said during the session is generated and stored so we can help keep the Student and our community safe. By signing, you consent to this transcription of the Student’s sessions. Tutors are not permitted to host sessions on their own or any third-party meeting tool in place of the Kairos room. We keep each transcript for a limited period (currently thirty days) and then delete it automatically, except that a transcript tied to a session that is reported, or that is subject to an investigation, dispute, or legal hold, may be kept for longer. We use transcripts to operate and improve the Services, including to generate session notes, and to review a session if it is reported. Both the Student and the Tutor are reminded that the session is transcribed before they join.
9. Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw this consent at any time by emailing support@kairosguidance.com. Withdrawing consent will pause the Student’s ability to book or attend sessions and may close the account. It does not affect actions already taken before the withdrawal.
10. Agreement to our Terms
This consent incorporates the Kairos Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy. Where this consent and the Terms of Use conflict on a matter specific to minors, this consent controls.
